What Shoes Should You Pack for a Trip to Galway?

Footwear Guides Sep 29 2026

A Galway trip can involve quite a bit of walking, even when the plan is just a wander around the city. It’s worth packing footwear you already know feels comfortable, then checking the weather before you leave.

For the city

Bring a pair you can walk in for several hours. A secure fit and a sole you feel confident wearing on pavement matter more than a new pair that looks good in the suitcase. If you plan to dress up in the evening, a second pair may be useful.

For a wet forecast

Consider footwear with a verified waterproof feature if you expect to be outdoors in rain. Check the particular shoe’s description: a boot shape alone does not mean it is waterproof. Let wet shoes dry naturally overnight, away from direct heat.

For a longer walk

Think about the ground you’ll cover and choose footwear suited to it. A city trainer and a shoe intended for rougher paths are different choices. Try any new pair at home before a full day out.

Our ladies’ outdoor footwear and men’s shoes show current options. If you’re in Galway and want to compare a fit in person, check availability for the particular style first; not every item online is necessarily on the shop floor.
